Pastoral Juvenil HIspana

We are a multi-cultural ministry!

United Catholic Youth Ministries supports four parishes with Youth Ministry. Part of that support, with a growing population of Hispanic/Latinx people in the Archdiocese of Chicago, is through Pastoral Juvenil Hispana (PJH). PJH is Youth Ministry with a focus on the reality of Hispanic/Latinx people and ministering, praying, and serving with that in mind. PJH is very focused on accompaniment and action. The national movement for Hispanic Ministry, the V Encuentro, played a crucial role in us learning how we can listen to our young Hispanic/Latinx people.

In response to a growing number of Hispanic/Latinx teens and the need for formation and family support, we created the Consejo de Padres, which supports Youth Ministry efforts and puts an emphasis on connecting the family to help support the vitality of Youth Ministry for Hispanic/Latinx teens.

United Catholic Youth Ministries supports the efforts of PJH and is always open to collaborating to support the cultural aspect in the lives of our young people:
