United Catholic Youth Ministries (UCYM) is the collaborative Youth Ministry of the Evanston & Skokie grouping parishes of St. Athanasius, St. Joan of Arc, St. Mary, and St. Nicholas. UCYM acts as the primary collaborator to each parish's youth programs and hosts sporadic collaborative events for all parishes in the region. The goal of UCYM is to provide each participating parish with the tools they need to build support and enrichment in the lives of teens in their parish and to be open to welcoming teens from the other parishes as well. UCYM supports the efforts of Young Adult Ministry at St. Nicholas Parish.
UCYM was first established in October of 2016 by founding members Karie Ferrell, Adriel Gonzalez, and James Holzhauer-Chuckas with the support of Pastors Fr. Joseph Tito of St. Nicholas Parish, Fr. Kevin McCray of St. Mary Parish, and Fr. Hernan Cuevas of St. Athanasius Parish and was launched in January of 2017 with its first event hosted at St. Nicholas Parish. UCYM was established in close consideration of Renew My Church in the Archdiocese of Chicago and the need to collaborate.
Join us and become part of this important ministry! Adults are welcome to join the UCYM Board and represent one of the parishes or be a member of the Core Team of Youth Ministers that supports each parish. All are welcome!
